How to use this template

The Customer Acquisition Progress template uses the metaphor of steps (rather than the traditional 'funnel' metaphor) to illustrate the specific stages that need to be passed, to get to an end goal. You can use text elements to identify what each step means (in your context), as well as other text elements and images below the steps to represent risks.

This template uses the 'Pirate' funnel metrics for each step – Awareness, Acquisition, Activation, Retention, and Revenue – but you can adapt this for other purposes, such as:
- Stakeholder alignment - map each stage of your stakeholders (from disagreement to agreement to passive action to active action...)
- New staff onboarding - map each stage of new recruits (from just hired to security clearance to general training to team-based training...)
- Application form processing - map each stage that an application needs to go through (from received to content-checked to systems-checked to approved...)
You can use this as part of a group workshop, or as a way to visually summarise issues and opportunities as a single slide for a presentation.

Outcomes

- Clear shared understanding of a process, or progress that a target audience or stakeholder needs to go through
- Streamlined summary view of lead generation and qualification
- Improved prospect nurturing and conversion rates
- Increased sales and revenue growth

PRO TIP

Try visualizing the steps as different heights depending on how difficult each step is to 'get up'. Include text and perhaps another image below the harder steps to help people understand why that step is hard, and what to do about it.

Customize the layout, content, and colors of this template, or swap elements for others to match your purpose.
