How to draw your future

Do you want to become that one person out of ten that can make change happen?
Use a drawing to get what you want!

It has been proven more than once: people who draw out their vision and ambitions are more likely to become successful than those who don’t.
It’s quite simple and straightforward.

  1. First, draw where you are today (current state): What does your current reality look like? What do you see/hear and what’s happening?
  2. Next, draw your desired reality. Where do you want to be in a year? What does success look like?
  3. In between both, you have a roadmap for change. When you see it, you can believe it and finally, you can act upon it. Define the steps that will bring you closer to your goal.

We remember things better when they are attached to a picture, 65% to be exact.
Drawing your dream and roadmap helps you to turn your dream into reality.

Maybe you are feeling insecure about your drawing skills? Don’t worry. It’s not about the result, it’s all about the process of drawing and thinking which will really make the difference. When you draw your dream, your brain creates serotonin and oxytocin which will make you feel happy.

It’s exactly that activity of drawing that will help your brain to come up with the solutions because your brain will bring all the pieces together for you.
So, grab a pen and that piece of paper and go for it!
And… if you really want a ‘better-looking’ roadmap afterward, you can make one in Drawify. You can find an empty example below.

We got inspired by a very inspiring video (3 minutes) by Patti Dobrowolski, a visual thinker, and change activator. Watch it and be ready for some change-making! By the way, she has many more (longer) videos with interesting insights on drawing change.
