How to use this template

This matrix is commonly used in business but can also be used as a simple self-coaching tool to help work smarter not harder and achieve a healthy work life balance. 

How to use it?

Categorize your tasks according to importance and urgency, in 4 quadrants. 

  1. The NOW: urgent and important, the typical troubleshooting.
  2. DECIDE, important but not urgent. These can be strategic, long-term work. High value but not urgent. 
  3. DELEGATE: it's not important but urgent. It has lower value, can be repetitive. Delegate where you can. 
  4. DELETE: Neither important or urgent? Why even spend time on it?
