How to use this template

The ADKAR Change Management Diagram is based on the ADKAR model, created by Prosci founder Jeff Hiatt. ADKAR stands for the stages that most people need to go through to be a genuine part of big change in any organization:
A - Awareness - Are people aware of why change is needed?
D - Desire - Do they actually want the change?
K - Knowledge - If they want it, do they know what they need to do?
A - Ability - If they have the knowledge, do they have the ability to change?
R - Reinforcement - Are there incentives and rewards in place, to ensure the change is embedded?

You can use this template as a communication piece in a presentation, or as a guide for your own change strategy and management efforts. Feel free to change the images in Drawify to suit your culture.

Outcomes

- Greater clarity about your change strategy, change levers and change tactics
- Increased employee engagement and participation in the change process
- More effective communication and collaboration throughout the organization
- Better alignment of individual and team goals with overall strategic objectives
- Improved overall success rates of organizational change initiatives

PRO TIP

Try using this ADKAR model as a framework for a retrospective or pre-mortem on a change manegement project. If the project is over: what does the model tell you about what could have been done better? If you are just about to start the project: what does the model tell you about potential gaps or risks in your change strategy and plan?
